…but sometimes I volunteer to!
The past few weeks have been pretty busy for me. I took a trip to Nashville, TN to celebrate a lovely friend’s bachelorette party/weekend and then a few days later I flew back to Nashville for a work function. Logically, I should have stayed and combined the trips into one, but I had a great reason to fly back home to Charleston in between.
A photographer friend was coming into town with some other talented photographers and needed some models. SIGN ME UP! I volunteered to model for her once while living in Baltimore, so I knew how much fun it was – and how awesome the images turn out! And this time, I suckered my husband into doing so with me, ha!
We met the group of talented ladies near the Historic Downtown area of Charleston, more specifically – Rainbow Row. How could a group of photographers resist the charming pastel colored buildings?!

There was another couple modeling for the group as well. Their look was softer and more romantic. Our look was a bit edgier and bold – perfect representation of the two of us! So interesting to see the two looks side by side.

We took several shots on Rainbow Row, then walked down towards Waterfront Park. From there, we walked to the Battery, because what would a Charleston shoot be without some shots on the Battery?! I love the fact that Ashton Kelley (of Ashton Kelley Photography) captured the behind the scenes of the entire process. Ashton puts together retreats where creatives, mainly photographers, get together to learn and share with each other and mentors in their fields. Such a great idea! We had such a great time modeling for all of the talented ladies that came to visit Charleston. Below are some of my favorite shots from the evening. I’ll update these with more as I see them pop-up. 😉

If you’re ever asked to volunteer to model, do it! SO much fun!
lovely! The images capture your personalities very well!! Looks like a fun day!
Love your take on this crazy evening! Thank you so much for dressing up and playing with us!!
So glad you could make it! It was great seeing you again and glad I got to meet the hubby!
