Celebrating a milestone…my 30th birthday!

…The big 3-0. The dirty thirty. Milestone birthday.

Yup! This month I hit a birthday milestone. I turned 30 on February 2. That’s right – Groundhog Day. Aka, one of Bill Murray’s awesome movies. But that’s besides the point, ha!

I decided I wanted to celebrate turning 30 by documenting ME! I know, I know – that sounds super “this-girl-is-full-of-herself”-esque, but I promise, that is not the way it is. Years from now, I will be happy to have had this opportunity. Besides, I need to document the purple hair! 🙂

The Creative Talent

Thank goodness I have met some awesome people through my creative network. I reached out to a photographer friend with my vision and she was SO in! Sirena of Aneris Photography and I met during the AKP Charming Retreat here in Charleston, SC. We both modeled in a Lilly Pulitzer inspired styled shoot and it was fabulous and fun!

The Shoot

On a Saturday afternoon, Sirena and I met up in the Park Circle area of North Charleston. Also in tow – my husband Bill’s Harley and some big gold 3-0 balloons. Excited and nervous, I was ready!

Sirena is a genius with a camera. Seriously. This girl made me look amazing! Just look at some of the shots she captured below!

Not gonna lie – felt a bit like a badass when the Harley was involved. Thanks to the husband!

When it came down to what kind of sweets were going to be involved in the shoot, in lieu of cake, we went with….CANNOLIS! I absolutely love cannolis and very randomly crave them from time to time. These were delicious and perfect for the occasion.

This was such a fun shoot to be involved in. I recommend anyone that’s thinking of celebrating and documenting a milestone – whether it’s a birthday, graduation, any life event – to just GET IT DONE! I am completely in love and satisfied with each and every one of these images. Here’s to many more birthdays – and perhaps some more photo shoot documentations 😉
